#OurDay #YourStory – We lost our dog Coco – Animal Welfare

We had quite a traumatic experience a
short while ago. Steve took our three dogs out, into some rough grassland
that’s just kind of at the back of the house and CoCo our Chihuahua,
the oldest one who’s coming up to ten now, spotted a
rabbit and just fled and completely disappeared We were all out in the
fields until very late at night shouting down rabbit holes, we had torches…
by Wednesday night I thought someone had grabbed him, or he dropped down dead.
I thought he couldn’t have been injured because I haven’t heard anything.
By Friday and then by Saturday morning it was a case of not getting CoCo back alive,
just finding him. There isn’t a typical day, as my job role is so varied,
but some of my daily responsibilities can include working with worried owners
to reunite them with their lost pets Dog microchipping, which helps us to
find out where a dog lives if it’s lost and neutering incentives, making sure that
we eliminate the risk of stray dogs. I also deal with problems created by
irresponsible pet owners including fouling, reports of neglect and noisy or stray animals. and Gemma was really good, I remember on the day because she spoke to me for quite a while
and for you, just making sure that we’d covered all the other bases
of who we could get involved. Get it out on Facebook,
get it everywhere and posters of different things and she brought other colleagues
with infrared heat-seeking cameras looking in their bushes, you know it was
just amazing amount of help and support we got immediately. It was a scalding hot day.
it was a red hot day and it went from, no hope whatsoever to within about 40 minutes into the search That Coco was found! I’m sure if he could speak, he
would just have this biggest, biggest thank you, for everything that a dog
could ever say and that comes from both us. From the bottom of our hearts,
thank You Gemma, for everything. Thanks for getting our family back together
