Sarah McBride, MA Social Welfare Law (Distance Learning)

I looked around at different
universities when I was looking to do a masters and I needed something that was
quite flexible that had a really relevant set of modules that I could
engage with and a bit of flexibility to set my modules as well and Staffordshire
I offered that and other universities didn’t I really loved that there was
negotiated module as well. So we were originally development workers in
Thailand for three years after the tsunami and then we had the chance to
move over to China so we’ve been there almost nine years one of the things
China’s changing at the moment is having more professional foreign experts so to
keep current with that I wanted to extend my bachelor’s degree to master’s
degree and that’s how I ended up here. I’ve been distance learning the whole time so I’m
able to work it around working hours, two small children and just normal life
commitments I think studying can always be difficult a lot of people said that
studying the distance with the time difference was going to make it quite
difficult honestly that wasn’t my experience I like the flexibility the
tutors were amazing really understanding and really flexible and I really enjoyed
the whole time
